SevilleDorado
I am wondering if anyone has had this problem. My 95 ElDorado's HVAC enclosure is deteriorateing and crumbleing. When I got the car 2 years ago it was somewhat bad, now it has basically just crumbled away and all of the insulation is exposed.I am sure it has an effect on it's efficiency, but other than that ? From my viewpoint, it looks like you would have to pull the engin to ever replace the whole thing, let alone even find a replacement. Will try to post a pic or two. Well it appears I have to resize the pics to post, so for now, just the question with no pics.........................
KHE
I replaced the HVAC cover on my '97 STS when I had the engine out for head gaskets. The cover was crumbling and I purchased a new one from gmotors.com (Brasington Cadillac in Gainsville, FL). Even with the engine out of the car it was a very difficult job. The part may have been discontinued by now. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71
SevilleDorado
Thanks for the reply , from what I could see , it sure looked impossible without pulling the motor.........I guess I could search for the part , and maybe some day I may need to pull the motor. I think some call that hoarding : ).
rockfangd
I just stopped looking at the one on my Deville. I figure it hasnt messed anything up yet so why worry about something that I cant really do anything about. The more you touch it the more it falls apart. I would say extremely common, and all around PITA to do GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
