'99 STS Motor Mount!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

Looks like a broken front motor mount for the STS.

I am looking for advice. I only want to do this once!

What other parts would be advisable to replace at

the same time? I have 72,k miles.

I would rather error on the side of doing too much rather than too little!

Should other motor mounts be changed at the same time?

I plan to change out:

thermostat

water pump

Belts

Upper & Lower Radiator Hoses

Stabilizer links and bushings

What else would you suggest? Are there heater core hoses

to change out?

Thanks in advance...

I have a 130k on my 98 STS and still have the factory pump and everything else but struts. I think you are premature to replace anything at your mileage. Just do the one mount and call it a day. To replace anymore at this point is crazy. Drive it like you stole it and they last longer....trust me....GM engineers continuously tell me that.

Wait till you have 110 plus before you start preventative maintenance!

Amen to that.... It keeps the oil circulating and cleans out the carbon. One time I was stuck in LA traffic for 6 hours and my car ran like crap. It had less power and blew white smoke. Gave it several WOT treatments and it cured it.
