shrike2000
I just installed the rear shocks for the Strutmaster replacement suspension on my 97 STS. I put in the resistors to supress the error codes, but I'm getting the ABS and Traction Control lights on my dash anyway. I took out and reinstalled the resistors just in case I put them in wrong, but no joy. Any suggestions? By the way, you need a Torx T-50 bit to hold the bolt on the OEM strut while you turn the nut. You also need some kind of compression tool to get the new shock in otherwise, like me, you'll devise some other way of getting it in there and end up with a crushed thumb and middle finger when things go south. chazglenn3
The resistors are used to supress the "Service Ride Control System" message. The ABS and traction system messages are due to a sensor, or sensor wiring problem more than likely. Maybe a wire was broken or pinched during the strut replacement. shrike2000
When I removed the old equipment, I didn't touch any other wires or components... the only thing I can think of is the air hoses that went into the old struts... do they need to be plugged or something? I just tied them back and left them alone.
