tinvan1
My car leaks coolant at the pump when car becomes cold. This is not consistent everyday. Does it leak from weep hole? Do I need to replace pump? What will it cost? Can I do it myself.
chazglenn3
Be sure that it is the pump leaking. I had a leak from that area, and was prepared to change the pump. The fine members of this forum advised me to check to see if it might be the water pump cover leaking...there is a gasket there prone to leakage. I bought a gasket at the dealer ($10!) and that fixed the problem. You can do it yourself, it was easy (once I got the 4th bolt off). The water pump sounds easy as well, as long as you buy or rent the proper tool to remove it. If you do change the pump, it turns clockwise to remove Good luck!
