chazglenn3
I noticed today that even though it is only 40 degrees outside my A/C compressor still constantly cycles on and off. Is this normal operation in cooler weather? Charles Charles
Ranger
Yes. The A/C will run as long as it is set on AUTO and the OAT (outside air temp) is 32 deg. or above. The exception is DEFROST which will activate A/C at any tempurature.
chazglenn3
Once again thanks Larry! I was hoping it was normal. I have enough trouble with the brittle crumbling HVAC box Charles Charles
franey
I know what you mean by the brittle box, i finally bought a tube of black silicone and wherever it was cracked or looked like it was going to crack i smothed a coat of silicone over it spreading it well beyound the crack, this seams to have stabilized the cracking. MY QUESTION WAS THIS, WHAT THE HELL WAS GM THINKING WITH THIS PIECE OF CRAP. You remember the old style boxes were almost bullit proof, and then they switch to this piece of crap. that i do believe according to the manual , you have to remove the engine put a new one in , that probably is made out of the same junk.
