jay3
I have a 2002 DTS with coolant in the rear carpet, worse on drivers side. If it is from heater core why is it more on drivers side? Also, how big of a pain is it to replace the core? Would be great if anyone had pictures. Thanks
JohnnyG
How did you determine that it was coolant? Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
Logan
Seems kinda far away for the coolant to be....but water can travel to strange places in a car. If it is the heater core...major PITA...the complete dashboard has to come out to access the heater core. Logan
Couple of pics...I think the 2006 was changed so the dash does not have to come out.. #30 is the core. JohnnyG
carpet is soked, feels oily when you get it on your hands. Just bought the car so don't know how long it's been like that There are some strange chemicals in the carpet and backing that can make plain old rainwater feel oily, not to mention just bacteria/algae growth. If it were my car, and IF it had a sunroof, I'd be looking there first, particularly if you don't see a coolant loss in your reservoir tank. If it DOES have a sunroof, clean the drain tubes with weedeater string from UNDER the car. Do not use compressed air since that might blow off the connection to the drains at each corner of the sunroof. Keep us posted. For all we know, someone may have spilled a jug of antifreeze in the back seat! Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
