I have a 2003 CTS 3.2L V-6 and was driving along and the idler pulley on the serpentine belt shattered and chewed the belt up. After replacing the idler pulley and belt, the car ran great for about 2 weeks. Now I was driving from my house and got about 1 mile away and it just dies. After further inspection , we pulled the front cover off the timing cover and found alot of the serpentine belt that got shredded was behind this cover. We aligned the timing marks up and cleaned the remnants of the old serpentine belt out. The timing belt looked good except for a few little cracks in it so I bought a new one and all the idlers also and a new water pump even. Took the old timing belt off and everything stayed in place and reinstalled the new timing belt and idlers. Got it all back together and the engine started and ran for about 10 seconds and died and will not start unless it sits for a while. There are no codes set so we are at wits end right now. Any help is greatly appreciated.
