OK, 1993 Seville, 71,000 mi.

About 6 months ago, I started experiencing a failure of my Remote Key Fob. When I pull into my garage, I hit the "trunk open" button and nothing happens. I press the door "Lock or unlock" button and again, nothing. (The button for the trunk, in the glove compartment will open the trunk. Basically, my FOB goes dead when I am either in my driveway or in the garage. When I pull into the street, all the buttons work.

My first thought was, the driveway has a slight "bump" from the street to the driveway. Nothing anyone would see as special. Second thought, my driveway has a very slight incline. Again nothing unusual. As soon as I get all 4 wheels on the driveway, the fob goes dead!

So, I pull into my neighbor's driveway (SAME slight bump and incline) and the fob works!!!! Pull into the neighbor's driveway on the otherside of mine, again, it works!

After getting REALLY irritated thinking about this I thought, "Hey, maybe my wireless home network is affecting this. GENIUS I tells ya!!!!

Go inside, unplug my wireless network (in the basement) and..... you guessed it. NO CHANGE.

I'd be really surprise if anyone reading this has any ides, but if so, please let me know!!!!! (No, I live in Omaha NE, nowhere near "area 51" in Nevada. !!!!!!

I had an Olds Intrigue that acted as yours seem to act (at one specific supermarket parking lot); never figured it out. But here's a link that might help eliminate your interference; it does sound as you have a local interference (from your house). Hope this helps, good luck: http://www.sandyblogs.com/techlink/2011/04/remote-keyless-entry-interference.html

Sit down and "THINK" of anything new you bought about 6 months ago...

Anything in August or September of last year...

Did you get a "REPEATER" or "EXTENDER" for your wireless network??

If it worked up until 6 months ago... and it "STILL" works everywhere but your driveway and garage...

It has to be something in your house causing the interference.

Other things to think about - Did you add an alarm system to your home? Or add/change any of the devices such motion detectors, glass break detectors? Remote panic alarms?

Automatic gate openers?

Automatic sprinkler system for the lawn, don't laugh some use RF sensors.

even thoug it isnt thought of much, the technology today is unbelievable and signals do clash. Interference can come from something a simple as a thermostat, or even a light fixture. It is hard to say what could cause the problem.

My only thing is at least it works in general lol

It might even be (the interference) from your neighbor (if close enough).
