Last night, I got off worh at 10:30 after a 10 hour shift. I started my 04 CTS and had driven exactly two blocks when the display system flashed up,"ENGINE HOT" but, the outside temperature was -10.

I currently have 143,000 miles on the odometer and all of the fluids have been changed within the past year.

This is the first time this has happened.

You need to check for codes, I doubt very much that in that ambient temp that in 2 blocks you could get that message

It is possible that your ECT is bad, that is engine coolant temperature sensor,

Check your system to see if any DTC codes are set, that may give us a clus
