jpjrfd
Hi Folks! I'm going to upgrade my lights to an HID (Zenon) system. If any of you have done so I would appreciate info as to what company you purchased from and what lamp power you chose. Because there are so many companies with varying degrees of price and quality I figured I had better rely on the great folks at this sight. Many thanks to all and have a great Thanksgiving! JimD
Here is my "opinion". Do not do it! Number one; HID light bulbs are designed to be used in 'projector' style lamp assemblies. Projector lamps focus the light source where it is intended to be. Number two; your lamp assemblies are 'reflector' style. Reflector style lamps scatter the light source. You will realize little practical benefit from the whiter light and oncoming drivers will suffer the consequences of a nonfocused light source. Number three; no matter which brand of HID bulb/ballast you buy, they should be labled "For off-road use only" or "Use only with projector lamps". SOAPBOX MODE=OFF Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !

Can you tell me if the projector style headlights are available for my model? Also I heard something about an "E-Code" rating on some of these kits which is designed to focus the light in a reflector style headlight. Is this true? Agian thank you for your input. That's why I rely on this site. Happy Thanksgiving!
JimD
Thank you for your reply. Can you tell me if the projector style headlights are available for my model? I have no idea, but certainly not from GM. If you are able to locate a projector lamp modification for your model, it will be some aftermarket part of questionable heritage. Also I heard something about an "E-Code" rating on some of these kits which is designed to focus the light in a reflector style headlight.... I have no experience with any of that.
