BodybyFisher
The official seller of service manuals is http://www.helminc.com I just went there and they DO have a factory service manual for you for $135 $50 is a steal, you will not find one cheaper, and DO NOT buy anything but a FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL, all others are generic and basically useless Welcome aboard and good luck Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
lothos
I would recommend Ebay if you're not finding much elsewhere. There's only 1 for your car in book form. I'm also seeing the DVD for your computer for around $15. Here's the 2000 Catera FSM for $60 plus $11 shipping: http://www.ebay.com/...=item5890739eb8 WARNING: I'm a total car newbie, don't be surprised if I ask a stupid question! Just trying to learn. KHE
Fifty bucks is a pretty good price - you're not going to find one for much lower than that. Beware of those computer DVDs... I think most of them are bootlegged and some will not even work. I bought one from someone over at cadillacforums.com and it worked one time and then stated it couldn't find the files. It was an absolute PITA to load also. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71

KHE
I had the exact same problem... It was a piece of JUNK... :( It had me delete my anti virus software, and all java applications, then took 45 minutes to install. The instructions then say to reinstall the anti virus software and upgrade the java application... It then told me it couldn't find the data/files.... and another 45 minutes to remove the POS from my computer. I on the other hand have had a great experience with the $30 DVD I bought on E Bay. It covers Devilles thru 2005 and uses VM software to navigate. It is password protected and is very in depth, although sometimes a little difficult to find what you want. It is designed for the dealer techs and refrences using the scan tool all the time. The schematics are great, as well as the troubleshooting trees. And everything can be saved as a PDF file and then printed if necessary. I do notice that when I clean the registry on my computer it cannot find the original file on its own, good thing I remember where I loaded the file. Having said all of that, I've been using Helms manuals for years, typically buy one for the car right after buying the car, and I have kept all of them in my library. I do prefer to be able to flip through pages of a manual than having to access my computer when working on the car. OldFart
sprinter10
I purchased one of the cheap manuals off ebay and it was a little dificult to get working on my new computer and it does run through the virtual machine sofware but is very indepth and a lot of information. Covers most gm from 1980s-2005 Im happy with it. When it came to saving the files or printing it was a little dificult because my printer was not reading properly but I found a way to go through and print it to my desktop so I could print out the pages. If your on a budget the ebay cd's arn't bad just research and read all of the description buy from someone that sell a lot of them with good feedback and with the most credentials of true gm certified or whatever even though it really isn't gm but thats why it is so cheap haha.
