Texas Jim
How low is "PRETTY LOW"?? And how long since you last checked it.... how many miles?? It is not uncommon for the NorthStar to use oil, if it is never driven "BRISKLY"... They like to be driven fairly hard every once in a while. cdgrinci
The catalytic converter will gobble up quite a bit of oil (without allowing smoke out the tailpipe); probably loosing oil past the oil rings. BodybyFisher
Mine did the same thing when I got it. It is due to the engine being driven wimpily...... This engine likes to be driven hard. Look up the WOT procedure under my name (advanced search) I have posted it a bunch of times and follow it. Do it once a week for a month, then once a month, you CAN improve your oil consumption. In the mean time, when you are getting on to highways, open her up, she likes to be driven hard! Drive it like you stole it!
