tysona23
My rear shocks are starting to wear out on my 99 seville. The rear air shock are going for about 400 to 600 for each side. Is there a cheap alternative? What about the larger lugs caps also? The dealer told me he wanted 75 dollars a peice for the lug caps.
JimD
My rear shocks are starting to wear out on my 99 seville. The rear air shock are going for about 400 to 600 for each side. Is there a cheap alternative? You have several alternatives for a now 13 year old car. Monroe offers a shock that maintains your electronic level control PLUS your CVRSS suspension control. Ebay or Amazon will be your friend for pricing. I have the Monroe part # somewhere or you can go to the Monroe site and dig it out. I would not trust the aftermarket parts stores to have the correct year/model Monroe application part #. Another alternative (which I do not recommend) is an aftermarket shock that maintains the electronic level control BUT does not maintain the CVRSS suspension control. You will have to give up the suspension response that makes a STS a STS. Prepare to "fool" the ride control module into sensing that electronic shocks are installed OR live with a constant SERVICE SUSPENSION SYSTEM message on the DIC. Also, there are web-based ACDelco (OEM) parts sources that can beat the dealer's parts counter prices. ....the larger lugs caps also? The dealer told me he wanted 75 dollars a peice for the lug caps. ?Do you mean wheel lug nuts? Don't see how you could go "larger". Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! tysona23
Sorry, I did not specify. The stock rims are different than the ones that are on there. They are the seven spoke rims: with the larger lug caps.

CoupeDTS
some GMs had plastic covers over the lug nuts for wheels that showed the lugnuts. That is for OE rims. You said you have different ones, not sure if they are GM or what they are so not sure how to help. * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE
tysona23
They are GM wheels, and yes, it is the center cap with the cadillac symbol. The stock caps are about the size of a fifty cent peice. These are the larger (like 4 in diameter) cadillac center caps.
Cadillac Jim
See CardioDoc on Wheels in the Caddyinfo Vendor section for anything pertaining to wheels. If it was ever made, he has it, and at the right price. He operates an eBay store out of Florida. On my car, the factory lug covers use an embossed Cadillac crest in the chrome. An aftermarket option for $125 a wheel was offered at the dealer that had a raised gold encircling artifact and an enameled color shield. I procrastinated for years and my wife finally bought them for me from CardioDoc - for just under $15 each. They really add a nice, subtle accent to the whole car. It's up to you to make sure that the hub covers fit your wheels. Your model and options should do the trick. If you have aftermarket wheels, get their make and stock number, measure the circle that the hub cover mounts in, and call him. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. Logan
Just to be clear. Two different things. You have 'ride control' and you have 'level control.' I'm not positive it'll work on a '99...but on a 2001 Deville..using a Tech 2 you can remove the 'ride control' system from the options list. Basically the car does not even think it has ride control. Not like the previous generation of vehicles at all.
