bobnsue2
Has anyone put on a belt to bypass the air conditioner compressor on a 4.9? Do you know the Part number or length?? I have a 91 STS and carry the old belt for emergency on the road, but seeing discussion about the Northstars doing this, I thought it would be smart to have the shorter belt for an emergency failure of the compressor on the road. Thanks, Bob B

Thanks, Bob B Interesting thought, its a good idea. I am sittng here thinking and I don't recall anyone ever bypassing it or having the need to bypass the compressor on a 4.9. Mike Early on sailors navigated by the stars at night and the North star became the symbol for finding ones way home. Once you know where the Northstar is you can point your ship in the right direction to get home. So the star became a symbol for finding ones way home or more symbolically even finding ones path in life.
adallak
My belt is four-year old, and I have been thinking of replacement. It would make sense to replace it with a shorter one since I do not use AC anymore. Anybody with such an experience? The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
eldoman95
why no use for AC?
