jinxed45
I finally got my Flowmaster 40 series for my 97 Eldorado, and I called around to some places and the cheapest I found was $60 per muffler to install!? Anyone work at a muffler shop around here that can do it for cheaper? Sherman Oaks, Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills, Woodland Hills, Northridge, Simi Valley, Moorpark, etc. Any of those areas? Thanks!!! Ed Hall
I also live in Ventura California. Everything is expensive here. The $60 to weld each muffler reflects the $640,000 median housing prices here. People have to make enough to afford to live. Even my salary as an Engineer is not even half what's needed to buy a house here. Why not just buy some adapters and clamps from Pep Boys and install them yourself? This is what I did on mine and the whole process took less than an hour. Here's a picture that shows the installation of my Flowmaster:
calif phil
looks to me like there is a clamp missing off the right end of the muffler. I do not think $60 is too high as long as they do a good job. Most muffler shops will weld them on. I prefer to clamp them on like the picture. That way you can replace it if you need to down the road.
Ed Hall
Did not need a clamp because it's an interferance fit. I had to pound it on concrete to to get it on. It's been on for 2 years so don't think that it's going to come off.
