Got the new wheels & tires on and they look good!

Finally had the new 16" chrome wheels put on today with the new Michelins X radial DT's from Costco and the car rides like new. :) It is so smooth...actually rides like a Caddy now. :) The vibration between 52 & 70 mph is also gone! That was a big concern as I was starting to think my lower engine mount was going bad. I love this car now even more! The wheels look better than I thought they would. Now I need to get an alignment done and some window tint. Thinking about taking off the white pinstriping. Doesn't mesh with the blackwalls too well.

Thanks Cardio-doc for the wheels!

E, I'm looking at the X Radials from Sam's Club also. Sounds like they ride creamy smooth on yours. The ride on my worn Pilots is getting a bit harsh. I let all the tires down to 29 psi this morning and that seems to have fixed it. I can't wait to get new tires, and I'm 95% sure I'm going with the X Radials. Sounds like you like yours?

So far, I love them! Much softer ride than the 2 Bridgestone Turanza LST's I tried out. Same 80k warranty too! The tread is supposedly a softer compound with the X's, but somehow last as long. Good looking tread pattern too. I ended up eating the Turanza's as I kept them for 3 months and would have felt bad returning them. Costco would taken them back, relunctantly, but I do a lot of business there and that would have been a total loss for them as they said they would just trash them....couldn't send back to Bridgestone. I'll just keep them on my old wheels and have them for a backup. Or sell on ebay?

That sounds great. The Michelin Harmony gets excellent reviews on Tirerack.com, and I think (only guessing) the X Radials are the "club store" equivalents...because the tread pattern is similar. My mother-in-law had a set of X Radials on her '98 Camry before she traded that car, and they rode super...but that car rode like you were on a pillow anyway. :) I'm excited to get them on my Cadillac. A long treadlife warranty doesn't necessarily mean a hard rubber compound, as you point out. I believe a quality tire like a Michelin can truly blend a creamy ride and long treadlife, which seems to be the X Radial's headline, and what I'm looking for in a tire for the next time 'round, so to speak.

Yep, you're right Jason. The Harmony and X Radials are almost identical, with the main difference being the X's are only sold at Costco, Sam's and BJ's. Either one would be a great tire. You'll love them! I sure do!

Hey post a picture when you get a chance with the new wheels! Mike

Will do. That was the plan today. I had a real messed up crazy day though. Good thing I have this computer to sooth my nerves.
