Cad1
If I torch the cover off the catcon, pull the guts out, then weld the cover back on. What would be the flow characteristics within the catcon and what would be the sound increase be like? I would like the flame kit but I'd need to gut it. Also I think I'd still pass inspection b/c I seem to get better ratings each year concerning toxins. 92 Deville w/210k miles
Ranger
I don't think you'd pass an emissions test with a gutted cat.
Cad1
I bet it would, a case of Stag and a 20 spot. 92 Deville w/210k miles
Cadillac STS
I bet it would, a case of Stag and a 20 spot. ^ man I'd rather not waste my money and just leave the cat on with the "guts"...
epricedright
I bet it would, a case of Stag and a 20 spot. What are rear airbags...SRS? Saw that on your signature. I'd take that bet. You can just give me cash instead of the Stag. Would costs YOU too much to ship...
KHE
I bet it would, a case of Stag and a 20 spot. There's no way in hell he's going to pass an emissions test without a catcon.... Cad1
Maybe you missed my point, this is pre obdII. A sniff test don't mean much when it's plugged into someone else's car. I think I rated perfect last inspection and my car is purging all kinds of stuff - smells like the old muscle cars. By the book, you are correct, but friends bend rules, no? I don't know of a way to beat obdII. Airbags - they are installed within the rear coils and inflate. Work pretty sweet and I think JC sells them for about 70 bucks. 92 Deville w/210k miles
Cad1
The catcon would still be there, just nothing inside. 92 Deville w/210k miles
Magnum Rockwilder
It's not just there for looks. If you want to go to the extra trouble, have a gutted one on the car, and another intact one that you can install for the test.
