BodybyFisher
You don't have the year of your car in your description You have air shocks in the REAR, that will level the car based on how much load is in the rear Those air shocks will NOT level or raise the front of the car. What you are experiencing is weak springs, struts DO NOT hold your car up, SPRINGS do. My 96 Deville bottomed out constantly until I replaced the springs and struts. What year car do you have? Also check for codes and post them here, it will help us know why that message is coming up Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

CoupeDTS
Completely blown shocks/struts can lower the car a little. Note when you have a shock or strut off the car and you try to compress it, it will take almost full body weight to compress that shock. Thats 100-200lbs or pressure the shock pushes back. Imagine a car with springs and no shocks, putting those shocks on are going to push the car up with 100-200lbs of force, not enough to raise it much, but similarly if you were to sit in the car it lowers it slightly. I had a cutlass that bottomed out real bad until I got new shocks. It raised it up some and didnt allow it to bottom out as easy. Post a picture of your car and we can probably tell if its sitting low from as many cars weve seen. Or compare yours to pictures on the internet, google images etc. Also check to see if you have the right size tires on front, ive seen incorrect sizes put on. * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE
BodybyFisher
While I heard what you are saying, struts are used for dampening, not ride height purposes. Springs are responsible for keeping the car at proper ride height See this Either before or after your test drive, measure and compare ride height at all four corners. More than half an inch difference side to side indicates weak springs http://www.aa1car.com/library/ride1.htm What makes me think springs (and probably struts) is because he says its sitting low Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
