GOOB
Good Morning all, I am about to add Bar's Leak to my cooling system. The bottle says to add some to the surge tank/recovery bottle. I seem to remember reading a post here stating NOT to add any to the surge tank/recovery bottle. So, what is it guys? Thanx Goob
epricedright
In the radiator if you have a radiator cap, if not, in the lower radiator hose I believe for the NS.
Bob D
Goob, since you have a N* there, the pellets (or Bars) go into either the large upper or lower radiator hose, but never the surge tank. vantasticdude
Do the additives (Bar's etc)really do anything but plug leaks ???
KHE
The Bar's Leaks golden seal really works - that's why GM recommends it. It is made of ginger root which has the unique property of swelling in the presence of air. Ranger
Do the additives (Bar's etc)really do anything but plug leaks ??? No, that is it's only purpose in life, to seal porous castings and imperfections in gasket surfaces.
