RonW
you need 5 to 10 lbs of boost to feel a difference
bigfoo
ahahah maybe on a 4 cylinder if you put 3 psi on the northstar you will feel a big difference
bigfoo
Oh and eldoman, that thing won't do anything for any engine probably above 2.0L Remember, to generate 5 psi on a northstar takes more than twice the amount of air to generate 5 psi on a 2L 4 cylinder.. It's just as simple as oh let's just compress air to 10psi, sure you can do that with a vacuum cleaner probably but nowhere near the capacity needed for a large engine
bigfoo
sooo.. what about a twin turbo catera?
tekfx19
Can someone please explain to me the bottleneck with putting turbo on the n*, is it the actual fitting or parts? or is it the computer issue....
bigfoo
Both.. and the fact that it's already a high compression engine. If you changed the pistons, cams, and redid the heads and used an aftermarket computer.. no problem That's what I plan on doing for the fun of it. On a stock engine, you'd be best off with a wet nitrous system so it can control its own fuel delivery and tune it on a dyno and you will be good to go without worrying about the computer. danbuc
I've heard that the e-Ram is good on engines up to 5.0L. I was searching around on google and found this link. Apparently someone familiar with this site has already tried it. This person said they were using it on a 4.9L engine. http://www.caddyinfo.com/revieweram.htm Not sure who it is but it sounds like they had some good results.
