chazglenn3
Will the radios from 98-04 Sevilles work in the 96 model? They look like they will physically fit, but I'm not sure they will operate. I assume that since I have the Bose system in my car I would have to get another Bose radio. Anyone done this? I am after the RDS feature on the newer radios. Thanks! Charles Charles
an01sts
I think that the factory raidos have to be programed to your car. It's like a pass key that's coded to your car.
chazglenn3
If that is the case, the dealer should be able to take care of that issue with their Tech 2. I am more concerned about the radio to speaker/amp matches and the connector in the back of the radio. I appreciate the reply, thanks! Poobah
I can't speak to the compatibility of radios from one year to another but I do know that the Bose system is completely different from the standard system. The head unit, speakers, and remote receiver (which is mounted to the antenna in the right rear fender) all have to match or the system won't work properly. Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.
