ero1220
Before I go ahead and start taking things apart... can somebody guide me through the disassembly of the headlight and foglight housings in my 2000 STS so I can replace the bulbs? Any details or diagrams you guys have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
JohnnyG
After you loosen the screws holding the headlight bucket in place, pull STRAIGHT OUT toward the front of the vehicle. Maybe a slight side to side wiggle or twisting motion will help, but DO NOT move the headlight bucket sideways away from the centerline of the vehicle. If you get a really hard one, you can pry the inner fenderwell (plastic) liner out enough to get some spray lube onto the locator pin. It is held in place by a rubber grommet inserted into the steel fender. Once the bucket is out, the bulbs can be easily accessed from the rear. They are able to be removed by a twist to the left (unscrew (anti-clockwise)) the bulb holder about a quarter turn. The bulbs themselves just plug into the bases. I put the Silverstars in mine about a year ago, they are slightly blue and give very much improved lighting. They do not seem to bother oncoming traffic. Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
JohnnyG
Oh, those instructions are for the headlight buckets only. I have not changed a bulb in my fogs yet, but I hear it's best not to mess with them. Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
