Are you getting a service engine light? If you turn the car off and restart it does it do ok till the overdrive shift? What codes do you have? Could possibly be a shift solenoid problem, but see what codes are set to make sure what the problem is.

Get your codes and post, and I am sure many will respond with info and ideas.

Nomac,

I just went thru the same thing a couple of weeks ago. When I reached about 2000 rpms (around 30-4-mph), the rpms would just get stuck. I had to lock up the emergency brake three times to prevent from rear-ending someone. I had a couple of intermittent TPS codes so I had it changed. Been driving with a new one for a week and the problem has not returned.....yet. The reason I say yet is because JBuck's response has me wondering.

JBuck, I am also getting the P056 code. Would the shift solenoid cause the problem(s) we described?

drop the pan, in laymens terms, there are two black colord rectangle lookin things. once the pan is down you will see some more bolts holding another part on. think there 8mm. youll pull off an assembly thats about 12" x 9". take apart the assembly, take caution to not loose the bearings within it. and dont forget where they go either. once apart you can take those black things out. its pretty complicated. im shur someone else can give you more detailed instructions. i dont remember what everythings called. if your not comfortable doing this, you can FVCK IT UP! there complicated and complex in there ways. maybe someone on the board can take you though the process step by step.

good luck. :D
