Is there ANY way I could get that Wood wheel in?

I know this has been discussed before, but I am going to raise the question again...

I RREEAAAALLLLYYY want to install the wood/leather wheel from a newer Eldorado (1999+, I believe), and I think they offered it in the Devilles too (prior to the 2000 redesign).

I know that it is not a simple bolt-in, as they changed the bolt pattern, and that should be enough to deter me from installing it right there...but it's not!

Assuming in the first place I can even get my hands on one, is there ANY, I repeat, ANY!! way I could modify it to work. What about removing the outer rim (the only piece I want anyway) and "cutting and pasting" (in a sense... not literally lol). Could the wooden sections be removed, and placed into my existing wheel, or would cutting out sections of the wheel rim destroy the structural integrity of the wheel, let alone butcher the appearence of the wheel?

Could the wheel be fabricated into place in any way?

I would truley appreciate feed back on this (preferably encouraging things! J/k... all comments are welcome!)

Thanks!

Thanks Ed!!!!

I am giddy with excitement!

That "American Stitches" company has got it together in my book.

Just what I was thinking of!

Thanks!

Hey bro...I know I'm way at the bottom of this list...hope you see this, but the wood wheel is cool. And it's really spendy. And it looks like something any other caddy owner has with out even having to work for it....so??? After feeling the same way as you about it, I wondered if there were any other options that would look good AND look Caddi. You have to defeat the airbag sensor with a resistor ( ten cents) and then you can order a billet wheel for the year column of your car. It's the same as a truck column pretty much..you can even order the billet cruise cover and pedals..the STS is the same as the chevy truck I used to have. Don't ask for your year and model,as they'll refuse to sell you a weheel if they think it's replacing n airbag. Be clever and it will be possible. (I have verified that this wheel will fit. ) Just tell em it was a wrecked car w/ no interior. But check out "billet specialties"..go for a wood grip and bang, you've got shiny polish plus wood. I've had a ton of em in my cars, and it's cool having that much flash in front of you when you drive.

Im thinkin of just spending the 13 bucks on this one....nicest one Ive seen and it doesnt have the miss matching message things on it. Stitches costs way too much for me.

I think I'll be poping over to Detroit sometime this weekend...

I'll drop by an Autozone and check out that cover. Maybe it can be a substitute fix for my bruised wheel, until I can manage to conjure up enough money to alow American Stitches to do there thing.

they dont have autozones in windsor? didnt think youd have to cross the ambassidor to get to one! :P anyway, ive had mine for a year and i like it. it traps dirt underneth though, so you have to take it off every couple months to clean the wheel or itll stain the leather.
