j-walters@nc.rr.com
Twenty five to fifty percent of the time when I start my 2000 STS the "Service Theft System" message displays and the "Security" indication stays on unitl I turn the switch off and back on. The codes B2734 and B1009 are active and U1016H is in the history. Where is the Coded Key Controller located and is it likely that this is the problem? JLW The B2734 code originates in the Theft Deterrent Module (VTD) and is most often caused by a loose connection. At least that's what the service manual says. It's located under the dash to the right of the steering wheel. See item #11 in the attached drawing. Regards, Warren There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises
