Brian in AZ
Just a quick note here...but I really would like a response if anyone has any ideas.... I hate things that make my car look old! I can keep the paint clean and so on but I can't seem to find a good way to revive the felt that surrounds the windows! It's totally visible to the outside when the windows are down, so do any detailers out there have any sugestions...besides replacing them?
bigfoo
you can re-dye it, but there is no way to fix it really without replacing it. it's like trying to fix leather.. i guess there is a way but it's not perfect or how you would want it (or maybe it is i dunno! hehe)
67coupedeville
What I use is compressed air to blow all the dust and dirt from the felt, then I use silicone lubricant after. It usually leaves a nice black and makes the window slide effortlessly either power or manual. Also takes away any sort of noises that may come from the window moving up or down too. Brian in AZ
Thanks for the ideas so far, but I definatley wouldnt want to use a silicate...it attracts more dirt than the felt would normally, and it would leave a huge smudge where it contacted the glass when the window is rolled up. But it's a thought. Plus...It gets matted down and shiny where it gets pressed on. I'm thinkin a wire brush may do it. oh well...just thought there was a secret.
