danbuc
The 1997 was the last year for the older body style(before 1998), so everything should have been pretty much figured out mechanically, and electically. In 1996 they switched to OBDII so there aren't many easy and quick ways to boost performance as there were with the OBDI cars(chip's...ect). Those would be 1995 and earlier. As far as the Red Sox go, I'm from New York, thus making me a Yankee's fan. I don't really follow baseball though. Welcome to the forum

tmpafford
Consumer Reports does not have good things to say for the 97 STS, but I cannot figure out why. I have owned mine since 2000, and have had very few problems. My water pump went out a few months ago, and my battery cables went bad on me about two years ago causing starting problems, fixed under warranty. I had a short in the power adjustible driver's seat that was fixed under warranty. Rear seat AC fan had a bad bearing, fixed by me. Wide Open Throttle manuvers are fun to do. On this board they are called WOT's. From time to time, carbon builds up in the system and a 0-70+ mph romp on the gas blows most of them out the exhaust. If you have never done this, the first cloud of smoke will scare you. A good romp on the gas every now and then will keep everything clean. I have been very happy with my 97 STS. GO ASTROS!!!!!! I have owned mine since 2000, and have had very few problems. 'Cause it's not a foreign brand name! Have you ever read a good report on an American made car in consumer reports? Last I checked, they don't have good things to say about ANY year Seville. But I still love mine! Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
