MrSmith
I was looking under the hood and I noticed alot of play at my throttl cable. I have a chitons manuel but its not telling me how to adjust it for my year DeVille. {1991 4.9L}. I got in the car and noticed that my Gas peddle was a liittle farther than normal to reach. Is there a way to adjust this cable so my gas peddle will return to normal hight. 1991 Sedan DeVille 4.9L has no adjustment bolts for gas peddle or throttle cable. KHE
Why do you need to adjust the throttle cable? There is a procedure outlined in the factory service manual. I would recommend purchasing a factory service manual for your car. They can be purchased from www.helminc.com or you can often find them on ebay for a reasonable price. The Chilton manuals are worthless in my opinion - they attempt to cover too many years in a single volume and are often incorrect or incomplete. adallak
I bought my Factory service manual at ebay for $10. Tons of information you would not find elsewhere. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent

I am sure there is no adjustment for the throttle cable. The cable slack has to be caused by a misadjustment in the ISC. It sounds to me like the ISC needs to be adjusted but I can't help you with that as I do not have a 4.9 manual any longer.
