eldoman95
on the way to work some guy in a GMC truck with NASCAR stickers all over it tried racing me at every frigan light.. so im just doing some spirited driving when this is happening. so at the next light.. i get into the lane next to him and stop about 6-7 feet behind where he is... considering its like 50 degrees right now i decide to give him a WOT for him to see what hes messing with. never done a WOT at such a low temp... it was nice. not to mention his truck was 30 feet behind me in a cloud of gray/black smoke from my tires. it definatly woke me up. Do that in Southern California and the cops will take your car from you and crush it. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans. JasonA
Eldoman, cool story. Is your traction control inoperable? The tires shouldn't spin enough to smoke them. When you get tire smoke, you're just losing speed. Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?"

Regis
Probably throwing junk out the exhaust at WOT. Makes for quite a show though. Two nights ago I was on a long onramp on my way home. This guy was tailgating me (35mph). We were just coming up to another bend on the ramp but i figured "oh what the hey" and grabbed the wheel with both hands, put the peddle to the floor........ you should have seen the plume that came out of the exhaust. I felt like the Lone Ranger..." in a cloud of dust and a hiyo silver... awayyyy". He drove right through it and about 2 seconds later pulled off to the side. I think he thought something was burning in his car. Had to have smelled something fierce. God that was funny. an01sts
I spend lots of time at Ocean City, MD during the summer months. There, the young testosterone runs pretty hard on the 3-lane main drag, and there is a lot of road with many lights and a 45 speed limit, offering that coveted 3 land bulavard light-weight playing. The little tin-can-muffler Japanese-burners really aren't a sport, and it takes zero throttle to leave them in the dust. Anway, there was a tin-can-muffler Japanese-burner in the left lane, a late model Cramaro in the center, and I held the right lane postion. This was also cruiser weekend, so there were lots of spetactors. Guaging eye contact, it was obvious that the Chebby and the Japanese burner were going to square off. With the Japanese burners, I really don't worry about the launch, but the Camaro was a little better match. The light changed, and I didn't get the best launch; even so, I hammered pretty hard. The guy in the Camaro kept his focus on the Japanese burner--and he was hitting hard too--and was looking to the left. Of course, the Japanese burner was in the exaust. The guy, quite tickeled that he waxed the Japanese burner, looked foreward with a smile. You should have seen his look when the ol' geezer 4 door had over a half car's lenght on the Camaro. Lots of times, people jockey around for round 2. I noiticed that the Camaro didn't make any attempt to work into a second staging light. In honesty, it even surprized me.
