Should I get it reprogramed?

Cadillac STS

Recommended Posts

Well if you guys remember about a week and a half ago, i mentioned purchasing a fastchip from a fellow N* owner. Well i just got it, and i immediately went and installed the chip in place of the factory. Although i can now chirp the tires real good going to 2nd during regular driving the tranny now shifts too firm that it makes a clunk sound when it goes into 2nd gear as if its slamming it..hope that makes sense to you guys...overall its just too firm for regular driving...so any ideas as to how and solve this? Maybe I can get it reprogrammed so that it doesn’t do that? But where can I get it done?

PS: I may have noticed a bit more pull when at WOT, I need to confirm this somehow, just too darn afraid to speed …or “accelerate at a rapid pace” Im sure my car attracts a good amount of attention when the car is pushed ;)

Man that golf cart thing kicks *smurf*. Where is that? :)

I'd just call fastchip.. It's their deal :> nobody on here is going to know how to reprogram it hehe

Strange......I emailed them about 5-6 hours ago and got a postmaster reply saying their inbox was full.

Im seriously considering their chip for the 4.9 because bruce had some signifcant gains from it, and the deville is mucho lighter then the STS......but I cant contact them to find out exactly what they do....I dont want to pay $159 for a chip that only advances timing and takes down the speed limiter (which ill never get to anyways)
