Yep, leaving for Monterey Saturday morning. The American Lemans Series race that will decide the manufacture's championship is Sunday at Laguna Seca. It's down to the final race in this series with the shootout between the Cadillac CTS VR's, and the Audis for the tiltle. These guys are actually ahead of the Corvette team, and all the others...not bad!

It is televised, I just can't remember what channel. (I don't have a TV guide here in my lab... ;) ) Might be SpeedChannel?

Anyway, look for me ,I'll be the guy in the black Northstar jacket and Cadillac ball cap, (with the cute blonde... B) )

Go Cadillac!!

Hey Bob,

Jeez you'd use any excuse just to get out of "Smokeville" for a day or two.

Have fun.

You’ve got that right George. Can you believe this?? For those of you that don’t know, Northern California has what, 4 major fires going right now? (Fairly close to us). One of the nastiest is just up the hill from here on the way to Lake Tahoe…maybe twenty miles as the crow flies. It has the local highway (50) shutdown, and currently five thousand acres are burning at this time. When I left to go down the hill this morning about 8am, here at 1600ft elevation the smoke made it looked as if a fog had settled in, and the ash on some of the cars looked as if had snowed last night. This is the stuff that headaches is made of…no LOL.. Not to mention worries. We’ve got 20 acres of rolling grassland sprinkled with oaks, and fires like this, close to home are a real good dose of reality.

Thanks, going to the coast will be a welcome relief.

Just as a reminder, Zymol has products that will help protect your baby's finish from the effects of the smoke, ash fallout and the chemicals that end up mixed in the air from the firefighting and end up settling on your car. All these will effect your car's finish and eat away at the clear coat.

Wash the baby often and wax her using Zymol carnauba wax.

http://www.zymol.com

http://www.zymol.com/clear2.htm Use this product to wash. A little goes a long way so don't let the price scare you. For heavier cleaning purposes, use this product instead.

http://www.zymol.com/wash2.htm While designed for SUV's it can be safely used on any finish to really clean and neutralize acids and road salts on contact.

http://www.zymol.com/hd2.htm Use this product BEFORE you wax to make sure you get off all the toxins that will settle on your baby's finish.

http://www.zymol.com/crecar2.htm Choose your weapon. All Zymol waxes contain carnauba wax, the only wax available that is 100% resistant to acid rain and other fallout.

http://www.zymol.com/titan2.htm My favorite glaze. Expensive, but the shine is like a mirror and it lasts and lasts. A little tough to work with, but worth it when you see the results.

And by the way, garaging or covering the car won't protect it from the smoke and chemicals in the smoke, only a good wax can do that.

Good luck.

If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.
