adallak
On my way to Washington, DC (eight hours round-trip) my passenger complained something was dripping on her feet There was no way to admit something was wrong with my Caddy, but I knew I was in trouble since I had flushed the heater core about a week ago and it looked like I did "real good" job We had a wonderful weekend! This roadside quick fix for the proud owners of 4.9 . I am not sure it is doable at Northstar. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
Ed Hall
I just replaced the heater core on mine which should be the same as yours. It's not too bad a job to do, just not much room. Here is what I had previously posted: Heater core replacement
Scotty
Good Job Adallak, did you tell your passenger that you ruined her shoes with antifreeze?
adallak
Good Job Adallak, did you tell your passenger that you ruined her shoes with antifreeze? she wore sneakers... I am pretty sure she never neither saw nor smelled antifreeze... before! anyway, she deserves new sneakers! Ed Hall, I saw your post, thanks for sharing with hands on experience. But... I did not have neither time nor a new heater core on my way to the capital to do the job! Knowing myself it will take another four years to start thinking of new core installed The saddest thing in life is wasted talent

Believe it or not, my dad put STERNO cans in the back seat (floor) and lit them to keep us warm (you now the cans that keep food warm!)! Now don't blame me if you set your car on fire! Thanks Dad we are warm but asphyxiated I had heat in my car just for two days in four and a half years. Never wore anything but t-shirt no matter summer or winter. My only concern is frozen windshield. It did give me a hard time last winter while I was driving from Rochester, NY to home and ran out of windshield liquid It was a nightmare - I had to stop on Rout 81 every five minutes and scratch the windshield with a quotre... Come on, spend the $40 and get under your dash your passenger will appreciate it greatly along with your nerves since you will be able to de-fog and de-ice. Not to mention it will be safer, we would miss you.....
