scott y
I personally have never replaced just the water pump pulley, when you replace the water pump it comes c/w a new pulley. Is the pulley damaged in some way?
BodybyFisher
Are you talking about the pulley on the tensioner or the one attached to the CAM at the CAM cover? There is a special puller for the CAM pulley puller that slips over the metal ring Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

BodybyFisher
There is a puller that is specifically made for the NS cam pulley http://www.handsontools.com/Kent-Moore-J-38825-A-Water-Pump-Pulley-Remover_p_16114.html Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
BodybyFisher
Here is another one, they are quite expensive, I'd look for a cheaper one or see if you can borrow one http://tools.ntxtool...lley-tool--list Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

KHE
Just go to any auto parts store and buy a power steering pulley puller - that is the same tool as the Kent Moore tool in the service manual but the one from the auto parts store will only be about $20.00. Do not attempt to hammer off the old pulley or you will damage the cam. To install the new pulley, you must use a bolt that will thread into the cam and a stack of washers to pull on the new pulley. Kdwellssr
Mine is a 2001.. Can it be the pulley be removed without taking off the fan and the stearing tensioners? I read in a different post that they needed to be removed to remove the front valve cover gasket. I got to the point I needed the pulley off and that last bolt next to the belt tensioner, then stopped til get a puller tool.
KHE
Not sure about the steering sensor but the fans need to come out in order to gain room to remove the front cam cover. When you re-install the cam seal, lube it with clean engine oil and use sensor safe RTV sealant on the mounting screws for the cam seal.
