kj smith Posted December 12, 2010 Report Share Posted December 12, 2010 Howdy Folks, I signed up looking for help with a P0496 code on my wife's 06 CTS. I never found a definitive answer, so I thought I would provide what I found. On her car I ended up replacing the Evap purge solenoid located on top of the engine, passenger side, at the back. The simple test I used was to remove the solenoid and blow through it. If you can easily blow through it, it needs to be replaced. This is just for everyones future info.
