drlove6202
i just picked up a 1995 sedan deville that is in great shape and well taken care of this is my first cadillac and i am very excited about it. so far everything runs and operates great EXCEPT for my heater blows out cold air. i dont know if there are any problem areas for this car or if anyone else has had this problem, any advice would help. also i have a few questions with this being my first cadillac and all. is there any way to see the temperature of the engine, there is nothing on the dash display. i only recieved two sets of keys and no keyless entry or security system remote, how can i tell if this feature is equipped and remotes were lost or do i just not have this feature thanks in advance for any input! BodybyFisher
On your dash or DIC should be an INFO button, push it, you should be able to toggle through info, on the 4.9 platform Your thermostat could be stuck open, your heater core could be clogged, the T could be oriented wrong, your coolant level could be low Feel the heater hoses under the hood, the in and the out hoses, see if they are hot or cold Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

Ill check my 95 manual for you and see what I can find. Do you have the owners manual that came in the glove compartment? Yes it sounds like they by-passed your heater core as it must have been leaking. Ill let you know in the next 24 hours what I find on your problems Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
drlove6202
i do have the owners manual but it says nothing about how to find the engine temp
BodybyFisher
i do have the owners manual but it says nothing about how to find the engine temp I would be surprised if there was no way to get it. Some of the earlier NSs had idiot lights and no gages, but I was pretty sure the 4.9 platform had a TEMP readout. My 91 4.9 had it, it would be silly to do away with it. Take a look at your dash lights and see if they introduced an idiot light. Turn the KEY to ON to light up the dash. Ill keep looking Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
RafferL
]I have a 1995 DeVille and it does have a remote, which has a lock, Unlock. Truck, and one more botton that I am not sure what its for , Probably the gas cap. I have never used it. there is a pic of a half circle with a line under it, and rays going up off of it like it might be to turn the lights on or sound the horn, but when I tryed it nothing happend.I would guess that you could get one from any GM dealer, and have them program it. rockfangd
I believe tthe fourth button on the 95 is the illuminated entry button. Thought for sure there was a coolant temp readout on the 95. On the console shift though there was a needle gauge instead of the digital readout GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
