2000 DTS Wiring + data pro.

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I have a problem that makes my whole week so bad. My car (DTS 2000 230,000 KM) is still till now in the car shop to fix the car.

I have done the following:

The car firstly show me a message in the dashboard Battery not charging and charging system service suddenly while Im driving the car all the bad massages came out and the car start acting strangely ex: the speed limit activated and other massages then the car couldnt move!!!

So, I went to the first shop and he told me to change the alternator…

I bought a newer one by almost $500 + $100 hand job. As a result to the change the car couldnt charge the battery and again I have the same massages and the voltage meter around 11.7 V while the car is running so the guy told me that I have to change the battery it might be a dead battery.

So, I bought a newer battery and the problem is the same.

Then I went to another shop and told me the new alternator is not working. So, I struggled till I change it from the parts shop because the electronics parts not refundable or changeable.

I called the manger of the shop then he promise me to change it or for refund. So, I went to other shop to replace it so they replace it then the ShowTime started!!!!

The alternator worked but the guys there told me that the connectors of the alternator was really bad so they change it and told me that everything is ok now (till now we are smiling and chilling that I have fixed my car).

I start the engine and tried to see the voltage on the electronic screen and it show 12.9 without a change before starting the car and after. It is seemed to be frozen then a change the data to fuel to empty part and it show LOW RANGE massage I think the guys fixed the connector but damage the cables!!!!!!!!

So, what is the cause now for the frozen voltage and no data?

Is it the cables between the alternator and the car computer or other cables?

We have reset the computer of the car by clearing all the codes and still the same problem!!!!!

How can I return my beloved car alive?

Checking the wiring sys. Will cost me around $500 what should we do ?

If the problem is the wiring sys. What sort of cables should we test and follow to fix the voltage and data on the screen of the dashboard?

I know I wrote a lot to you guys but I would like to share what happened with me so others guys should avoid those problems…

Many thanks

Hope to find the solution as soon as possible

Wajeh

Try disconnecting and then reconnecting the negative battery cable and see if the system needs to be 'restarted'. Maybe they worked on the car without disconnecting the battery and messed things up
