Tampa caddy 1998
98-Devill: The compressor is cycling on and off. The temp will not go below 70 it's 90 outside. The high and low side pressures are correct and no Acm codes. I believe this is not correct to cycle like that.
KHE
It is normal for the compressor to cycle. Do you mean that the compressor is rapidly cycling - as in 5 seconds on and 5 seconds off? If so, that is an indication that the system is low on refrigerant. The only true way to be certain the system has the correct amount of refrigerant is to recover and weigh the charge. If it is less than 2.0 lbs., the system needs refrigerant. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71
firefoot0315
Last summer my AC wouldn't stay engaged. It turned out to be a loose ground strap, which I suspect was courtesy of my friendly shade tree mechanic Might be worth checking out, although if it's switching between off and on that does sound somewhat functional, and more like low refrigerant. It's been a bit, but I think I recall getting a low refrigerant message a couple times... No matter where you go, there you are.
