BodybyFisher Posted July 9, 2010 Report Share Posted July 9, 2010 The Northstar has an automatic air purge line, unless of course it is clogged. You can check to see if its clear by pulling the purge line off the top of the black coolant tank while the engine is COOL. The purge line is a 3/8 inch rubber hose that crosses the engine toward the throttle body, NOT the overflow hose near the cap. So while the engine is cool, pull the hose off (gently) and start and IDLE the engine. You should see a steady flow of coolant flow from that hose, if it flows your AIR PURGE LINE is CLEAR, if NOT come back and I will tell you how to clear it..
