gspoth
Hi guys, time for the all important Northstar coolant change ( 50/50 green stuff) along with gold bars leak. My question is the following. After driaing radiator, do you fill the radiator up again through the surge tank? Seems logical but I'm wondering if radiator will get coolant fast enough from the surge tank with engine runnning. It;s my first time doing this on the northstar as I am used to pouring coolant directly into radiator on the 92 seville. Appreciate the feedback
Ranger
Just pour it slowly before starting the engine. It will fill the radiator from the surge tank. After it is full start the engine and rev it several times to clear any air pockets. Then top off as needed.
