BodybyFisher
The MAP sensor in 94 sits in the intake manifold with the fuel pressure regulator and fuel rail. Direct vacuum acts on it. It is normal for oil to get on to the MAP and it will not affect its performance. Are you having any driveability issues? Is your on-board diagnostic system setting any trouble codes? marekcadillac
Thank you for your prompt reply. I thought that I have oil leak and have to replace some seal or gasket. Yes, I had codes 32 and 71. engine was shutting down. Oil was going through the water connector inside the pins in the MAP sensor and cosing engine to stall and even stop. I cleaned the sensor connections and applied silicon to stopped oil from getting in. For now, engine runs okay. is there better way fix the problem? Ranger
The oil is coming from the PCV valve (crankcase vapors). Perfectly normal.
