Eldorado1
Thanks for the informative video. Exterior and interior colors are two areas where Cadillac could definitely use improvement. The colors offered are lacking a crisp variety of hues--although the "metamerism" of the chromaflair paints is a nice aspect of those finishes. For example, Mercedes offers a nice Quartz Blue Metallic. There are presently no shades of blue offered on the CTS line-up. For some reason, the new for 2010 color, Vanilla Latte, is not offered on the 2011 CTS Coupe. With respect to interiors, Infiniti, BMW, Audi and Mercedes all offer variations of Red Leather Interiors, but not Cadillac. The "Light Linen" Leather Interior offered on the 2010 DTS would look great on the CTS models--but it is not available. Cadillac ought to put a lot more effort into "Cadillac-exclusive" colors for the brand. I was not impressed by the interview shown of Michelle Killen. It would be great to resurrect the idea of "Firemist Exterior Colors," paints "known for their brilliance of color and metal-flake aspect." Those were offered when Cadillac's designers had creativity! Even if Cadillac had to charge extra, such as the Mercedes Benz "Designo Editions," it would be a good source of profits. The video related that consumers will even switch brands if they cannot get the color they want--thus, it could be an opportunity for Cadillac to gain new customers, if they get more creative with their offerings. Bruce Nunnally
Evolution Green Metallic is a new 2011 Coupe color, but they have not made one yet. Hard to tell here, but it appears to be a pale green. The SRX can be ordered in an Imperial Blue Mettallic that might look good on a CTS: Or the Blue Frost Metallic: Cadillac currently charges $995 for most premium colors.
