2002 Deville base model. I apparently need new rear shocks. What is the best fix for this. Im not sure what I need.

Partstrain.com has a few options. One PAIR Monroe is $89.

Another Monroe option is $549 for 1 shock!!?? (Now i know why theyre called Shocks!)

Im not sure how all this works. It appears the $89 doesnt hook up to my compressor, just a manual job u fill yourself????

Its a 2002 and Im out of work right now... what are my options??? Can somebody help a broke do-it-yourselfer??

$89 job

$549 job

YOU SHOULD TAKE A LOOK AT STRUTMASTERS.COM THEY HAVE THE ORIGINAL PARTS AS WELL AS THE CONVERSION

KITS AS WELL AND THEY HAVE KITS AS LOW AS 300 DOLLARS BECAUSE WITH THE AIR RIDE ON THE DEVILLE

ITS GOING TO COST ALMOST 1000 AND THATS JUST THE PARTS SO JUST TAKE A LOOK. AND GOOD LUCK

Rock Auto has the same Shocks for about $350.

If your car has the computer control shocks you will want to do this. Once the cars are converted to non-computer control shocks, they are a little differnet.

I order the StrutMasters Conversion Kit for my 99 Deville, today. My rear shocks are dead and sitting on the bumpers. So...after reading the posts and checking out the website, decided to just go ahead and Git er Done!

Actually turns out it's best to call and give them your VIN number. Then they can match up exactly what you need.

Anyway...stay tuned
