Texas Jim
My Uncle used to be a VW mechanic. Some of the older... (kinda wore out)... VW's were real hard to start if you shut them off. I have seen him do this a couple of times. "I" didn't want to try it.... :D
PAUL T
I will have to watch it again to see if he had all of his fingers. My luck the screw driver would fly out and embed itself in my chest.
JimD
A friend (who is pretty good with a wrench and a former air-cooled VW owner) in Rockwall County, TX sent me that video several months ago. I called him and asked if he knew where we could find a running VW; I wanted to practice that procedure!! Quote Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! KHE
It seems like that procedure (in addition to being hazardous to one's fingers...) might break the cords in the belt. BodybyFisher
I like wrenches too much to short cut the process like this, In actuality, the new belt should not fit, if the tension was adjusted as the old belt got old.
