dudenamedric Posted April 17, 2010 Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 I have a 1996 Deville and I'm having issues with popping my hood. I tried to pop the hood this evening to check the oil, but when I pulled the handle in the car on the driver's side, it didn't pop. It feels as though the handle itself isn't attached to whatever actually releases the hood. Has this ever happened to anybody else? If so, is it an expensive fix? Ranger Posted April 18, 2010 Report Share Posted April 18, 2010 The cable probably pulled loose from the latch. See if you can get at it from the bottom. Once you get it opened and repaired, be sure to lube the latch to ease the pressure on it when pulling the cable. Mine was getting rather tight and I just lubed it. Made a big difference.
