Bruce Nunnally
Just a quick note on the Chevrolet Malibu, a National Rental Car example I am driving this week. Yeah....go out of town and "STAND ON IT"...see what the speed limiter is set at. Is it set at 100 or 110? Inquiring minds want to know. Bruce Nunnally
I already have frequent bizarre things happen with Rental Cars without taking them on high speed runs. It would be fun to bring my test gear with me on trips and do instrumented tests but hard to explain at the airport security what those gadgets do. JohnnyG
I think we could get people much more interested in E85 cars if they were rated by only the gasoline portion. I think you'd create a lot of VERY irate customers if you pulled a stunt like this. Yeah, some people would understand the concept, but I think a lot more would wonder why they're not getting 200 mpg. It might work for hybrids and plug in electrics, but that's about it. Other than that, I like the looks of the new Malibu, and it's a good size too. Saw one in all black with some extra chrome trim around the windows, it really looked sharp!
