digital_dad
Can anyone tell me how to get a cheap set of clean rims for my 2000 Deville? Went to the tire place this weekend to have them fix a slow leak with one of my tires. They brought me back my rim with severe oxidation on the inner bead and also ruined my tire bead as well! They told me all of my rims are most likely doing this. I have the 4552 U rims and would like to get the 4571 U rims, but the 4571 rims are 17" and mine are presently 16". Can I go the Caddy dealer or somewhere else to get a new gear for my speedo pickup if I get the larger rims? Thanks in advance, Charlie
CoupeDTS
all mine did that this winter on my 2000 DTS. They all were slowly leaking, they showed me the crusty wear and simply used a wire wheel on a drill/grinder to smooth it out. Problem solved my tires hold air. They said it happens to most all aluminum wheels over time. * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE
CoupeDTS
btw it only cost me $8 a wheel to get done. And dont change speedo gears if you go a different size wheel, just get the corresponding tire size that will keep your wheel and tire diameter the same. 235/55/17s are what are on the DTS. * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE
