alno1995
Long time reader first time poster. This one on a 99 STS. Would someone be kind enough to tell me what the small belt is on the drivers side of engine???? Shes got about 120K on her and thinking this belt may need to be changed. Looks like kind of a difficult to get to belt. Any advice from an expert would be appreciated. Thanks
Manny
Hi Alno! 99 STS 4.6? That small belt would be attached to your water pump. Resistance is futile.
BodybyFisher
It may look like its difficult to get at but its not. It has a shroud that is connected at three points, that you remove (two nuts and one bolt, if I recall). Once the shroud is off, use a 1/4" breaker bar or ratchet handle to release the pressure on the belt, you will need to jockey the belt off the water pump and out..
