adallak Posted June 20, 2004 Report Share Posted June 20, 2004 Had a clunking noise somewhere in the front end while moving other bumps. I have replaced the ball joint, stabilizer link and control arm's insullators. Actually only the link looked bad. Anyway that noise is gone now. Had a rattling noise somewhere ander the car during accelerations and more pronounced while moving up a hill. Appeared to be be the exaust pipe hitting a braket. Motor and the exaust sytem moved back during power braking on the hoist just a little bit ( 3/8 of an inch) but it was enough to contact the the braket and make it resonate. I have bend the braket so it would never touch the pipe again. The noise is gone! Finally. Bbobinsky, thank you for advising to power brake while on the hoist . It made all the difference.
