ryanlongmire24
thanks for that info I am still trying to process it.. I will be looking into them shocks and struts and see about it.... One question I do have is can I do the work myself with only a floor jack since that is all i have in Michigan with me.. If you can let me know how hard of a job I am getting myself into and would it be best to let another do it even though financially it may not be possible but yes I am like you I don't want a patch job I want it to be like new.. It rides and handles good now but I know it can be alot better since I have been in a lot of cadillacs new and old....

BodybyFisher
Check out http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_CADIL...Parts_yid6.html for aftermarket struts I did my rear struts and springs.. The struts are pretty easy to remove, the hardest part is the top fasteners, some have had lots of trouble getting the nuts off. I also replaced the high pressure nylon tubing also that I purchased from the dealer If I recall I purchased a special tool to hold the strut from turning while I removed the nut. Use all precautions to support the car safely Here is my thread, my name was Scotty at the time http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=5016 Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
BodybyFisher
This thread is from when I replaced my rear knuckle, there are good photos of the area, and you can see the rear strut http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=15332 Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
