ccdog
Hey guy's. I was wondering if there is a trick to installing the serpentine belt on a 97 deville. I took the old one off however I am really having a hard time installing the new belt. There is no room to work. I figure that there has to be a way to get it on. Any help is greatly appreciated. BodybyFisher
The guru used to say to use a short broom stick to guide to belt on to the crank pulley, once its on the crank pulley work your way up, its really not too bad, keep your eye on the under hood schematic. The last thing to go on is the power steering pulley while you turn the tensioner. Ranger
Try a piece of 1/2" copper water pipe. Flatten the end and bend it into an L or go through the wheel well.

lothos
I realize you've completed the belt already, but hopefully this can help someone in the future. I had some left over brake line from when I replaced my brakes, I was able to bend the end of a short section of tube and use that to guide the belt on. It worked pretty well.
